Recycling Information

The following materials are now being accepted co-mingled:

 GLASS

Bottles & Jars Only
Bottles and Jars of all colors with lables.

NO PLASTIC CAPS AND TOPS, DRINKING GLASSES, PYREX, VASES, DISHES, BAKEWARE, CHINA, LIGHTBULBS.

 

 PLASTICS

 

Bottles/Containers Only
Bottles, Jars, and Tubs with a #1, #2, #3, #4, #5, #6, and #7, in the Recycling Triangle such as Beverage, Milk, Detergent, Shampoo, Margarine, and Yogurt.

NO CONTAINERS THAT CONTAINED MOTOR OIL, PESTICIDES OR HAZARDOUS CHEMICALS ARE TO BE DROPPED OFF.

 

 METAL

 

Aluminum, Tin, Steel, and Bimetal (containers only)

Soda, Beverage, and Food Containers, bimetal cans.

NO AEROSOL CANS CONTAINING PRODUCT, ALUMINUM FOIL AND PIE PLATES, COOKING POTS AND PANS.

 

 NEWSPAPER

Clean newsprint and the inserts that come with newspapers such as comics, glossy coupons, magazine sections and colored ads.

NEWSPAPERS MUST BE REMOVED FROM THE PLASTIC FILM WEATHER BAG.

 

CARDBOARD PAPER & CHIPBOARD

 

 

Corrugated cardboard, boxes, and brown paper grocery bags, cereal and other non-wax coated food containers, tissue boxes, shoe boxes, clean corrugated pizza boxes and egg cartons.

NO WAXED ITEMS AND FROZEN FOOD BOXES, MILK AND JUICE CONTAINERS, STYROFOAM OR PLASTIC EGG CARTONS.

 

 OTHER PAPER  & JUNK MAIL

 

Magazines, writing and school paper, envelopes with or without windows, copy paper, paperback books, hardcover books with covers removed, catalogs, phone books, store fliers, office papers, file folders, greeting cards, non-metallic gift wrapping paper and boxes.

WE DO NOT RECYCLE SHREDDED PAPER, TISSUE/TOILET PAPER OR PHOTOGRAPHS.

 

RECHARGEABLE BATTERY RECYCLING

 

Rechargeable batteries can be dropped off for recycling at the Warren County Landfill and at many local retailers including Home Depot, Lowes, Staples, RadioShack, Verizon Wireless.

CFL BULBS RECYCLING

Compact Fluorescent Light Bulb (CFL) can be brought to the Warren County Landfill during the Household Hazardous Waste and Electronics Recycling Event, which are held two times a year.

You may also recycle your CFL bulbs at your local Home Depot.
